Alterna énergie, a subsidiary of Sorégies, has acquired Vattenfall Energies, the French distribution arm of the Swedish energy group Vattenfall. With this transaction, Alterna énergie has doubled its customer portfolio to around 350,000 customers and increased the annual energy volume to around 10 TWh.
Alterna énergie is a French energy supplier based in Poitiers with nearly 20 years of experience in the French energy market. The company draws on a network of more than 1,500 renewable energy producers (wind, solar, hydro and biomethane).
Vattenfall Energies holds a portfolio of more than 18,000 commercial and 175,000 residential customer contracts and has become, upon completion of the transaction, a subsidiary of Alterna énergie.
Alterna énergie was advised by CMS Francis Lefebvre. Tim Stahlberg and Christian Rink of Reuther Rieche supported the CMS Francis Lefebvre team on the German energy law aspects of the transaction.
